Floor Renovation Donation Progress Update
I would like to thank everyone that has donated. As of today we have raised $2715 which brings the total to $5430 with the matching help by the anonymous donor.
We have raised enough money to buy the materials for the new floor! But as of today, it will not be enough to add additional new grounded metal strips as each costs about $1000.
We are almost there, with a little more support we can improve the floor even more by adding an additional metal strip or two. If you would like to get us there, you can read more about the project and donate through our site . Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Closed on August 5th & 7th
There will be no practice on Saturday, 5th and Monday, 7th as we will be replacing and laying down the new floor.
Volunteers
The floor renovation will start on August 4th and end on August 8th and we need all the help we can get. If you would like to donate your time or expertise to the project, please sign-up here .
New Fencing Season
The new USFA fencing starts on August 1st. We can look forward to many great competitions in this coming season! What this means, though, is that everyone must renew their membership in the United States Fencing Association. There is now a new simplified system that can be accessed through the USFencing website . For non-competitive members, the USFA requires you to have a non-competitive membership for insurance purposes; you can follow the same link and choose the non-competitive membership which is $10 per year. If you are not sure which option you should choose, ask us at the club. It's important that all of our members have up-to-date membership!
Than you,
~Johnny
