DEADLINE to register for Nationals: June 24

Upcoming Events

Summer National Championships

The biggest event on the fencing horizon is the National Championships, which will be held in Philadelphia from July 3 to July 12. For those who don't know, this is the culmination of the competitive fencing season, and is especially exciting as it did not occur last year. For those who have qualified, the deadline to register is Thursday, June 24. There are a few other considerations as well.

For those attending Nationals, we are finalizing plans for coaching at the event. We plan to provide coaching as cost-effectively as possible, but it still represents an expense. If you would like to be coached at Summer Nationals, please respond ASAP and let us know! In the past, the cost of coaching has been around $30-40 per event fenced. The more fencers who share this cost, the lower it will be!

For those not attending the tournament, expect some changes to the schedule during that week. We will provide more info as it gets nearer, but the lesson schedule will likely be modified as we will be short-staffed at the club. We will also be providing links to follow our competitive fencers in action, and cheer them on from home!

HoF Youth and Advanced Camps

Our camps are fast-approaching! First up is Advanced Epee Camp I, which will be held June 28-July 2 and is for competitive fencers age 13 and up. This camp will be great preparation for Nationals, or just a good chance for any competitive fencer to hone their skills. At this point, the camp is less than 2 weeks away! Sign up today!!!

In July, we will be holding our annual Youth Camp! This camp is for fencers ages 9-12 and is perfect for any skill level. There will be games, drills, and situational fencing, and the goal is for fencers to leave more knowledgeable and more passionate about the sport. We would love to see as many of our fencers be involved as possible. You can sign up for this camp by following this link .

Later in July, we are holding Advanced Epee Camp II. This camp will coincide with the Olympics and have a strategic focus--perfect preparation for the start of the new season. You can read more and sign up at this link .

Iron Knight

The Iron Knight tournament is THIS Sunday, June 20! This event is another great way to prepare for Summer Nationals, or to test your fencing endurance, or just to have a great time with lots of fencing! The format is the same as ever--one giant round-robin where all bouts are no-time-limit, win by 4 touches! Bouts might last 2 minutes, or 2 hours! This is not a USFA event, so all fencers age 13 and over are welcome to participate. Full tournament gear is NOT required. Weather permitting, we will set up outdoor areas to spread out the fencers during this event. Space is limited, so sign up now!

Monday Night Fencing Times

Don't forget, we are now holding 8:15-9:45pm practices on Monday for the 13 and up group that usually fences on Wednesday/Thursday! This also means that the earlier group now fences from 6:30-8pm. This change is reflected on SignUpGenius. There is also no longer a limit on how many practices a fencer can attend each week. Wednesday and Thursday fencers--come out on Monday nights for more fencing!!!
