Registration DEADLINES for October/November ROCs +RYCs

Registration Deadlines

There are several events with fast-approaching deadlines. First up, the Remenyik ROC/RJCC in Evanston, IL on October 12-13th. This is a great event with qualifying opportunities for our competitive fencers teenage and older. The deadline to register is this Saturday, September 28th. There are also two upcoming Regional Youth events in the Cleveland area--the Escrime d'Halloween RYC/RJC/Div2 , and the Cleveland Rocks RYC/RJCC . The deadline for both of these events is this Friday, September 27th. These events really are for EVERYONE interested in competing. Our involvement in these tournaments also makes a serious difference as to whether such events will continue to be held in our division, so it's important to sign up now and get involved!

WRA 'E' and Under/Team

It's also past time to sign up for the WRA 'E' and Under/Unrated Team Event on October 6th. This is a local event specifically designed to give newer fencers, beginner fencers, and first-time tournament fencers a chance to compete! We are starting to develop a reputation for being bad at signing up for and supporting these events, which I would like to correct. It is critical that we sign up for events EARLY, support our local fencing scene, and most importantly, take advantage of these great opportunities!

This event also has an unrated team event, which is a really fun part of fencing! We could send as many as three or four teams if our fencers are interested, but we need to organize our teams of three fencers each in advance. So, if you are an unrated fencer interested in participating in a team, send us an email or let us know at the club and we will add you to a team. Don't wait!

Adult Beginner Class

Don't forget, our Adult Beginner Class begins tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7:30! Pass the word to anyone interested, or sign up yourself! This is a great chance to get involved and see what fencing is all about. See you there!
