Upcoming Tournaments
There are multiple tournaments coming up for all of our members! Nearest on the horizon are an "E" and Under Tournament at Western Reserve Academy on October 5th (sign up by 10/3), an Open at Ohio State on October 11th, and the Escrime d'Halloween RYC/RJCC on October 25-26 (register by 10/3). The Junior Olympic Qualifiers will also be held on November 2 (register by 10/27).
We are hosting several events at HoF in November/December. As always, make sure to register for our own events well in advance, so we can make these events the best events possible. We currently have three tournaments on the calendar--an Open on November 1, an Unrated on November 22, and an Open/1-Touch Tournament on December 14. Please sign up early!
Schedule Change on Oct. 9th/11th
Coach Johnny and I will both be out of town on October 9th and 11th, so our usual schedule will change on those days. On Thursday, October 9th, there will be NO youth footwork or open footwork. Instead, Beau Schultz will open the club for open fencing from 6pm onwards. Feel free to come fence that day, but there will be no regular lessons or classes. Additionally, we will be closed on October 11th. That is also the date of the OSU Open , so I recommend our competitive fencers plan to attend that event! Normal practice schedule will resume on Monday, October 13.
Weekend Results
Many of our fencers competed last weekend at the Cleveland State RYC/RJCC. In all, 18 HoF fencers competed in 7 different events and earned 18 total medals! Regardless of result, all of our fencers competed hard and gained valuable experience. Here are a few results from the weekend:
