Ohio High School Championships

Our young fencers did awesome in Columbus on April 6, 2013 Michael Billinghurst wins the Men's Epee title!! Winning the bronze medals were Stephen Kimatian and Nicholas Griffiths In Women's Epee, HoF takes silver, bronze and bronze Annemarie Kelpe wins the silver and Meghan O'Reilly and Meredith Pinkerton bring home the bronze.

All our kids did awesome and are carrying on the HoF tradition of dominance in the Ohio State High School Championships!

Richmod, VA NAC & Championships

In Richmond this past weekend HoF's college All America Fencer Courtney Dumas took home the 7th place medal in the Womens Div 1 National Championships. Well Done Court !!!

Meghan O'Reilly took silver in the Y14 team event with her teammates & friends from NJ.

While we did not get the results we hoped for, don't let it get you down, learn from it. There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure. There are 2 and a half months until the Championships & NAC's in Columbus, lets get ready for that.

Youth & Adult Classes

Our adult spring class starts on April 23rd and will run for 10 weeks, Tuesdays from 7pm to 8:30pm and will be taught by Coach Jim, if you know someone that would be interested, let them know about it. Thanks to your efforts we have only 1 spot left !!! Awesome! We have posted our next youth class !!! lets get the word out again !!! Class starts on Saturday June 1st and runs for 12 weeks from 9am to 10am

A big thank you to you all from me. I was totally surprised on my Birthday. I cannot begin to tell you all the mix bag of emotions that went threw me. To be honest this one (56) had been a difficult one for me. Birthdays and age never bother me. Age to me is just a number(what fencing group am I in), for some reason this one had me thinking. I guess a slight sense of mid life thoughts. I guess thats good in a way, I expect to live to 112. So for a few days I had been pondering the meaning of life and lives work, thinking I know when I got here to this planet and wondering about a departure date. So on Thursday you all did a great job getting me out of my deep thoughts. Hells bells I have never been one to let anything bother me, so I'm ready to rock and roll and do some sword fighting !!! Thanks again.

Fencing for 6,7 and 8 year olds

HoF is thinking about having a special little class or camp for 6,7,and 8 year olds. This class an experiment would only be open to kids from the HoF family. So brothers an sisters of folks that are already involved with HoF, please let us know if your child would be interested in that.

D and Under on May 11 , FFFFF on June 14th and our big IronKnight Day on June 16th.

Summer Nationals & Summer NAC's

As we move toward the summer, HoF has many events on the schedule and naturally Summer Nationals as well as Summer NAC. Summer Nationals and Summer North American Cup are basically the same thing. The USFA has decided not to call every event a Championship. This year the events are being held in Columbus Ohio, thus giving most of you a great chance to compete at a great tourney without cross country travel.

I will try and explain the best I can.

These events are the Championships:

Div 2 C, D, E and Unrated fencers born before 1999

Div 3 D, E and Unrated fencers born before 1999

Youth 14

Veteran Events, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, over 70

The above events have LOCAL qualifying Dates & schedule on askFRED THE DATES ARE 4/20, 4/21 If you qualify for Div2 and are eligible for Div3 then you are an automatic qualifier for Div3. Div 1A is the last championships and you will had to have gone to a ROC (Regional Open Circuit) and gotten points.

Now on to the NAC

For some events you have to qualify by attending a SYC (Super Youth Circuit) or RYC (Regional), such as the Arnold games, if you have not and wish to go to Columbus you need to go to a RYC, or SYC. Y10, Y12, are those events in which you need to have gone to a RYC or SYC in that event. Upcoming RYC, SYC and ROC's can be found here For U16, U19 just sign up and more info. on all this here

Team events

There will be team events in the open, veteran and U19 age groups, if you want to be considered for a team or teams, HoF can field more then one team, please email me asap.
