Fencing Season 2020-2021 Begins

As of August 1st, the 2020/21 fencing season is officially underway. For our members, this means two things.

First, ALL members must renew/update their US Fencing membership. You can do that here . You are required to have at least a non-competitive membership in order to fence at the club. If you compete later in the year, you can always upgrade your membership by paying the difference.

Second, some of our fencers are aging up into a new age group. For this season, all fencers count as whatever age they will be on January 1st, 2021. This means, for example, that fencers turning 13 in December count as 13 right now. However, fencers turning 13 in mid-January or February will count as 12 until NEXT August 1st. As you sign up for upcoming classes, use this information accordingly. We would also be happy to suggest appropriate class times for any of our students; just let us know!

Fall Fencing and Lesson Schedule

With school restarting (in one form or another) our fencing and lesson schedule is changing to accommodate our students. These changes will begin on August 29th, so all lessons and classes before that date will remain unchanged. Our classes will retain roughly the same schedule, with the addition of a Y14 class on Mondays from 7:00-8:30pm. This class is open to students age 10-14, and will appear on the schedule soon.

Lesson times will be changed more dramatically, and unfortunately this means that members will have to re-select weekly lesson times. We will be offering fewer lesson slots on Monday and Tuesday, but additional spots on Wednesday and Saturday. Though the new schedule will not take effect until Saturday, 8/29, you can choose your new lesson time beginning at 8pm, THIS Wednesday, 8/19. If possible, you may select the same lesson time as the current schedule. If NO lesson times work with your schedule, email us and we can discuss. You will be able to choose from available lesson times here .

August 29th Youth Class

Adult Fencing & Beginner Class

In mid-September, we will be starting a dedicated night for adult fencers (18 and up). Tuesday nights will feature open fencing for our adult members, as well as a rolling introductory class for others interested in trying out the sport or mixing some fun exercise into the routine. Our first adult beginner class of the year will begin on Tuesday, September 22nd, from 7:00-8:30pm. The cost of the 6-week class is $120... HOWEVER, we are offering a temporary deal for half-off to parents or siblings of any current members! Parents and siblings, you can claim the discounted price by signing up through PayPal here . More details on Tuesday nights to come. Be sure to share the class with anyone who comes to mind!
