May/June Events and Summer Camps

Unsanctioned Youth Tournament

We are holding our next unsanctioned youth event on Sunday, May 22. You can find all the times and details at the link above. This event is intended for ALL of our fencers, ESPECIALLY those just starting out or in their first year of fencing. Please be sure to sign up as soon as possible! This had been a real obstacle to our events lately, and I cannot emphasize enough how important and helpful it is for our fencers to sign up for HoF events EARLY!

Summer Camps

Please read for important information about our summer camps:

The first summer camp has been pushed one week back--it will now be held the week of June 27-July 1. Apologies to anyone who is inconvenienced by this change; fencers, take note of this date change! This is Advanced Epee Camp I --a good preparation for Nationals, but also a great way to go deeper with fencing and have fun with other fencers.

Our second summer camp is our annual Youth Camp , which will take place the week of July 18-22. I highly recommend this camp for any of our fencers age 12 and younger; it will be a lot of fun and a chance to improve fencing skills and knowledge. There will be lots of games, drills, and other activities; plus, it's a good chance to bond with your fellow fencers!

Our third summer camp is Advanced Epee Camp II . I would like to see this camp be as well-attended as possible! Fencing ages will roll over on August 1st, so this camp is intended to be a great chance for 12/13 year old fencers to participate in their new age group, make new friends, and prepare for the upcoming season. The more fencers who attend, the better this camp will be! Be sure to sign up soon!

Spring Cleaning

Don't forget to sign up for Spring Cleaning on Saturday, May 28! All fencers/parents/friends of HoF are invited to come help out. Spring cleaning will start at 2pm on May 28, and if there's good turnout, shouldn't take more than 1.5-2 hours. There is a sign-up at the club for those interested. Thanks for helping keep the club in great shape!

Bring-A-Parent Tournament

On Saturday, June 4, we are hosting a Bring-A-Parent Tournament! Here's the idea; fencers bring a parent (or both!) and coach their parent in a mini-tournament. If you've ever thought about giving fencing a try, this is the perfect chance! It's also a fun chance for fencers to flex their coaching skills, and fence against mom or dad. Parents, this event will be a fun challenge, but not too long or taxing. This event will start at 1pm on June 4, and there is a sign-up at the club. See you there!

Iron Knight

Our annual Iron Knight tournament is coming soon! This unsanctioned event will be held on June 12, and is typically one of our best-attended events. The format focuses on endurance and is really great practice for all fencers. There will also be pizza! You do not need to be a competitive member to fence in this event, but once again, it's important for our members to sign up as soon as possible. Let's make this another great event!

Summer Nationals

Summer Nationals are fast approaching! This year, Nationals will be held in Minneapolis from July 2nd-July 11th. You can read more of the details like qualifying paths and schedules right here . The open registration deadline is May 25th, so don't wait to register. Also, we are trying to get a head count of participating fencers, so let us know through email or at the club if you are planning to attend Summer Nationals this year!
