July & August Events at HoF

Sent

This is an archived newsletter from July 17, 2021. Dates, prices and deadlines in it have passed — see current classes or the schedule.

On August 1st, the 2021-22 fencing season will officially begin. This means two things for our members. First, you must renew your USA Fencing membership (unless you got it very recently). It is a requirement as a USA Fencing member club that all our fencers maintain current memberships. You can renew your membership or check its status here . The minimum membership required is the non-competitive ($10/year). If you wish to compete at tournaments this season, you must have either the Access or Competitive membership. Read the link above for more info.

Second, all youth fencers age up one year in the fencing calendar. During the 2021-22 season, all fencers count as the age they will be on January 1st, 2022. So, even if a fencer hasn't turned 13 yet, he or she may still count as 13 starting August 1st if their birthday falls between then and January 1st. Accordingly, some of our fencers may need to adjust their practice schedule. If you're not sure when you should come, feel free to talk to us at the club.

Youth Beginner Class

Our next beginner class (ages 9-12) will start on Saturday, August 28th, at 9am, and run for 6 weeks. If you know anyone who might be interested, spread the word and let's get some new fencers started in the sport! You can find the link to the class here . Our members are our best form of advertisement!
