Open/Youth/Unrated Tournament

THIS weekend, we are hosting a sanctioned tournament at HoF! It would be great to have as many of our fencers attend as possible. There is an Open on Saturday (4/23) and a Youth + Unrated event on Sunday (4/24). You can sign up and read more by following those links. These events are sanctioned by USA Fencing, which means fencers will need full tournament equipment (the usual stuff plus knickers, socks, and underarm protectors) AND a USA Fencing Competitive Membership .

Summer Camps

We are holding three camps this summer at HoF! The first is coming up soon--two weeks before Summer Nationals (June 20-24). This will be Advanced Epee Camp I--a good preparation for Nationals, but also a great way to go deeper with fencing and have a lot of fun with other fencers. The other camps should be posted soon, but I'm expecting them to be the last week of July and the first week of August. The first of those will be a Youth Camp, and the second will be Advanced Epee Camp II. Bear in mind that fencing ages will roll over on August 1st, so this camp will also be the first chance for 12/13 year old fencers to participate in their new age group. Be sure to sign up soon!

National Qualifiers/Tournaments

The Northern Ohio Division National Qualifiers are coming soon--Saturday May 7. However, you MUST sign up for this event by April 28. This year's Summer Nationals are in Minneapolis, Minnesota between July 2-11. If you are considering fencing in Youth events, or Div II/Div III, you should attend this event. The full qualifying paths for Summer Nationals can be found here .

As always, there are many tournaments happening within driving range. I try to provide updates about as many as possible (see the left side of these emails, and the calendar at the club as well), but you can always search for tournaments yourself on AskFRED.net or USAFencing . Finding tournaments with opponents you have never fenced is always great experience, and a lot of fun.

Spring Cleaning

On Saturday, May 28, we will be doing our (usually) annual Spring cleaning of HoF! It's always nice to keep our club looking great, and in order to make this as painless as possible, we'd like to invite all of our fencers to come help out! Spring cleaning will start at 2pm on May 28, and if there's good turnout, shouldn't take more than 1.5-2 hours. All fencers/families are welcome to help out, and there will be a sign-up at the club for those interested. Thanks for helping keep the club in great shape!

Bring-A-Parent Tournament

On Saturday, June 4, we are hosting a Bring-A-Parent Tournament! We have held these before, but it's been a while! Here's the idea; fencers bring a parent (or both!) and coach their parent in a mini-tournament. If you've ever thought about giving fencing a try, this is the perfect chance! It's also a fun chance for fencers to flex their coaching skills, and fence against mom or dad. This event will start at 1pm on June 4, and there will be a sign-up at the club. See you there!
