HoF Youth Camp

Our Summer Camps are finally on the calendar! This July, we are hosting 3 week-long camps. The Youth Camp (ages 9-12) will be held the week of July 19-23. This camp is a half-day experience (9:30am-12:30pm) that will emphasize fun and fundamentals. Fencers will engage in a wide variety of games, drills, and fencing scenarios, intended to build both skill and excitement about the sport! The cost of the camp is $150. You can read more info and register for the camp here . Space is limited, so sign up soon!

Advanced Epee Camps

In addition to the Youth Camp, we are hosting TWO Advanced Epee Camps. The first camp will be July 5-9 , and the second will be the week of July 26-30 . These camps are intended for competitive fencers ages 13 and up. The cost of the week-long camp is $200; fencers may sign up for either camp, or for both camps! There will be similarities between the two camps, but each one will have a different focus. The first camp will focus more heavily on footwork, fitness, form, and explosive technique. It will also involve plenty of competitive fencing and situational bouts! The second camp , which will coincide with the fencing competition at the Tokyo Olympics, will still be intense, but will emphasize the mental side of the game--tactics, mental toughness, fencing theory, and bout management. Both camps will offer lots of fencing and valuable experience for our fencers! Space is limited, so sign up soon! I highly recommend these camps for all our competitive members!

Monday Fencing in June

Beginning on Monday, June 7, our Monday schedule will be modified. The ages 10-14 class that is currently 7:00-8:30pm will be pushed ahead to 6:30-8:00pm. This aligns with the similar schedule on Wednesday and Thursday, and will also make room for a new 13 and up class from 8:15-9:45 on Mondays. As we will be opening more days of fencing... beginning in June, fencers may sign up for any number of group classes during the week! Those whose private lessons are affected by this change in schedule, we will speak to you individually and make accommodations. More fencing is always a good thing!

Bautista Memorial Open

Competitive fencers, 13 and over, consider fencing this weekend at the Bautista Memorial Open in Columbus. It's a good chance to get out and fence against different competition! And as always, keep an eye on AskFRED for more area events!
