I hope everyone avoided serious weather damage from the storms this week! Unfortunately, one of the utility poles next to our building was damaged, and is currently leaning over the parking lot with power lines hanging very low and close to our front door. Most of the parking in our complex has been roped off. It should be resolved fairly quickly, but considering there is no available parking, a potential safety hazard, and our power is in doubt, we decided it would be best to close this evening. There is no damage to the club itself. Hopefully, it will be resolved by tomorrow, so expect the club to be open then--if there are ongoing issues I will send another email.
In the meantime, please review the events on the left side of this email, as well as the ones I've highlighted below. There are lots of fun events coming up, so mark your calendars now!
Practice Youth Tournament
We are holding an unsanctioned Youth event for all of your youth fencers on Sunday, April 12. The Y10 and Y14 events will be held at noon, while the Y12 event will be held at 2pm. This time, instead of using AskFRED, there will be a sign-up at the club, so make sure you sign up in person or email us if you plan to attend!
We are also still looking for some older fencers to help referee this event. Let me know!
Ohio HS Championships
The Ohio High School Championships are Sunday, April 19! This is an event that ALL of our high school fencers should participate in--if you are a competitive fencer in high school, sign up and put this on your calendar. You can view the AskFRED page right here .
