Winter Camp
This year, we are holding our first ever Winter Camp ! The camp will be 3 days--December 27-29. The camp will be 9am to 4pm each day, with a one-hour lunch break each day (campers can stay at the club to hang out and eat lunch). The focus will be fencing, fencing, fencing! Lots of competitive situations and bouting! The camp costs $100 and you can sign up here . Please sign up ASAP to ensure a good turnout!
This camp is open to fencers age 12 and up, and will take the place of regular practice on Saturday, December 28th.
Holiday Closures
Hooked on Fencing's usual schedule will be altered on 4 days this December/January. HoH will be CLOSED on December 25, December 26, and January 1. As mentioned above, there will be no regular practice on December 28th, as the Winter Camp will be taking place. Enjoy your time off and come back refreshed for the new year!
Club Championships
The second event of our Club Championship circuit will be the weekend of December 14-15. The Open event is on Saturday, and all Youth events are on Sunday. This is open to ALL club members, regardless of competitive membership. Register and find all the info here .
Epee Raffle
Our annual Epee Raffle is officially underway! Between now and our Christmas Party (which will take place on Wednesday, December 18th) you can purchase raffle tickets for $5 each. The winner will receive a brand-new epee! Tickets can be purchased at the the club or online here .
Christmas Party
Our annual Christmas Party is on Wednesday, December 18. We'll begin at 6pm (doors will be open a little earlier) and hold our raffle drawing and awards around 7:30-8pm. Bring a dish or dessert to share and we'll celebrate the close of 2019!
Parents Tournament
On Saturday, December 21, we are holding a Parents Tournament at 1pm. This will be similar to the Bring-a-Friend tournament; fencers will bring a parent or two, and coach them to compete in a mini-tournament. Parents, if you've ever wondered what it's like to fence, this is your chance! Sign up at the club and show up on the 21st!
January Youth Class
Our next Youth Introductory Class begins on January 4th! We're looking to fill this class as we start the new year, so spread the word! You can find info about all of our classes here .
