Beginner Classes and Presidents' Day Closure

March Beginner Classes

We have two beginner classes coming up, and our goal is to fill them both! Word of mouth is the best way to make more fencers, so be sure to tell someone who might be interested! Our youth class is for brand-new fencers ages 8-12, and runs from 5:30 until 6:30 for six weeks. Our adult class is for anyone age 16 or above, and is a great to chance to get some exercise and try out a unique and exciting sport! This class also runs 6 weeks, from 7:30-9pm. Parents, this is an awesome chance to get more involved and learn more about the sport your kids do every week (plus it's a lot of fun!). Weekend Results

This past weekend, we hosted a club Y12 Tournament as well as a 'D' and Under Tournament. Additionally, a few of our fencers traveled to Columbus to fence in a Y12 event. It's great to see so many fencers competing, growing as fencers, and representing the club, and sometimes that hard work results in competitive success. Here are some HoF results from this weekend:

Bring-a-Friend Tournament

Make sure you sign up for the Bring-a-Friend tournament on Saturday, March 23rd! Here's the idea--fencers bring a friend to participate (someone who has never fenced before) and coach their friend in a friendly competition! It's a great chance to introduce the sport to some new people, and test your skills as a coach! We will have 2 different age brackets, so fencers of all ages are welcome to bring a friend! There will also be a prize for the most successful fencer/coach! This event starts at 2pm, and you can sign up at the club!

HoF Closed on Monday 2/19

Don't forget, Hooked on Fencing will be CLOSED on Monday, February 19th. In addition, several of our fencers are competing at the Junior Olympics this weekend, and you can follow the live results at Fencing Time Live on Friday through Monday! Good luck to all our fencers!
