Ripken the "IRONMAN" Hooked on
Fencing is PROUD to announce the first annual
IRON KNIGHT Tournament.
This grueling competition is not for the weak.
This competition will start on Saturday June 17,
2006 and end when it is over. It may last all day
and well into the KNIGHT, are you Knight enough?
This is a NON-sanctioned event. This is for all epee
fencers whether their members of the association
or not.
The format is not for the timid, all are invited.
See how long you can last! You may drop out at any
time!
Format
One Pool. If 8 fencers show up, you will fence 7
bouts. If 25 fencers show up you will fence 24 bouts.
If 100 fencers show up you will fence 99 bouts.
Bouts. Each bout will be 4 touches in honor of Lou
Gherig the Iron Horse who wore number 4. HOWEVER,
you must win by 4. 4-0, 6-2, 10-6, 35-31. Some bouts
may last a long time, do you have what it takes?
When
Saturday June 17, 2006
Doors will open at 7:30am, Registration will
close at 8:30am, fencing to begin at 8:45 am and
last to the last bout has been fenced.
Cost
40 dollars, which will include FREE GATORADE and
food sometime during the event.
SPECIAL RULES
1) This is a NON Sanction Event you need not be a
member of the USFA.
2) This will be self refereed, this is a tournament
based on a practice theme, trying to get in shape
for the Nationals. You are expected to carry yourself
with honor and diginity. If you agrue and fight at
your club during practices, then stay home.
During this event you are expected to act and behave
like a "Knight".
3) A full uniform is highly recommended but NOT REQUIRED.
However NO SHORTS.
