How You Can Help
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a fun
and safe environment for kids of all ages (even the over 40 ones)
to learn and practice the sport of fencing. All the money taken
in by the club goes to pay the rent and provide equipment to further
this goal. The officers and coaches of HoF are all volunteers.
There are numerous ways that you can help us out.
Donations
Because we are a 501(c)3 charity, your donation is tax deductable.
HoF gladly accepts donations of all kinds: aluminum cans,
supplies
(cleaning
supplies, paper towels, garbage bags, toilet paper etc), and, yes,
even cash.
Volunteer
Our club is growing rapidly and we could always use an extra hand
in both fencing and non-fencing activities. The coaches welcome
assistance in running practices and repairing equipment. There
are numerous opportunities for non-fencers such as painting walls,
fund raising, assisting at tournaments or just helping to clean
up. Our families and friends have made the sidelines as much fun
as the fencing strip.
We have a terrific group of fencers and parents. The following
are a few examples of the work they have done:
- Donating and installing a water fountain.
- Organizing and collecting aluminum cans and scrap metal (which
has earned the clubs hundreds of dollars).
- Installing a screen door and donating fans to keep us cool
in the summer heat.
- Painting and decorating the ladies restroom.
- Managing our gatorade and pop sales.
- Keeping the club spotlessly clean.
